Do I Need to Configure APN Settings for My Travel eSIM to Work?

Usually not. Your phone fills in the APN by itself when you install the eSIM. Now and then an install doesn’t go to plan, so enter it yourself if your eSIM has no data once it’s switched on with data roaming, or if your eSIM’s instructions list an APN.

How Do I Find the Correct APN Settings for My Travel eSIM?

Check your eSIM confirmation email or setup instructions, which list the exact APN for your eSIM. The APNs on this page are commonly used ones, shared as a general guide.

Q: How Do I Add Travel eSIM APN Settings on My Phone?

Go to Settings, then Mobile Data (Cellular on some iPhones), tap your travel eSIM, then Mobile Data Network. Type the APN from your confirmation email into the APN field and leave the username and password blank unless your email lists them. Reset Settings on the same screen puts it back, and an iOS update can clear it.

Most travel eSIMs send your data through a hub in another country.

It sounds odd, but it’s the trick that lets you hop borders without touching your phone settings, keeps prices low and skips the government ID checks.

Your phone usually sets the APN for you when you install your eSIM, so you’ll typically only need to change it if your eSIM isn’t working once it’s switched on with data roaming. The details below are commonly used APNs, shared as a general guide. The wrong APN can leave you with slow or no internet, so always follow your eSIM’s install instructions and confirmation email for the exact details.
